López de Heredia, 'Viña Bosconia' Reserva Rioja 2007

$42

Rioja is Spain’s premier wine region. The reds are classic. Always a bit earthy, medium-bodied, and long-lived. The main grape here is called Tempranillo. You’ll see three different words on the labels which indicate how long they have been aged. Crianza is aged for 2 years before release. Reserva is aged for 3 years. Gran Reserva is aged for at least 5 years. With the wines which have longer extended aging, they become earthier and spicier less about the fruitiness of the younger wines. López is one of the best, if not, the best producer in the region.
