Mas des Brousses is run by Xavier Peyraud, the grandson of the inimitable Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier. Here in the Languedoc, Xavier and his wife, Géraldine, make this flagship red mostly from mourvedre vines brought over from Tempier’s vineyards in Bandol. Those grapes, which are farmed organically and harvested by hand, yield a ripe and savory wine with freshness and spice that’s often lacking in powerful Languedoc reds.
Tastes like: Black cherry, leather, sage, tomato leaf.
How to Drink: Ideal wine with pulled pork, steak tartare, or all things BBQ.
