In the early ‘80s, very few producers were making world-class wine in Greece– not even George Skouras. But that’s because he was making great wine in Burgundy. He returned home in 1986, and began making fantastic wines at high altitudes on Greece’s southern peninsula. He makes this wine with Greece’s best white grape, assyrtiko, which is always crisp, bright, and salty.

Tastes like: Sea salt, lemon, grapefruit.
How to drink: Chilled alongside oysters, feta-topped salads, grilled octopus, or anything else you’d find at a white-walled restaurant on the Greek coast.
