Sperino, 'Uvaggio' 2014
Ghemme, Bramaterra, Gattinara, and Lessona are towns which are in “Alto-Piemonte.” That means they are north of the acclaimed Barolo zone on the map. These towns have had a long history of growing Nebbiolo and a few other grapes too. As of lately, they are the hot zone for successful producers from other regions looking to expand. This is a good sign for these regions, and only better wine will be made here as a result of it. Alto-Piemonte wines should be: ageworthy, taste a little bit like mushrooms and flowers, increase in value.
