After owning a popular wine bar that overlooked the famous slopes of Tain l’Hermitage in the Rhone Valley, Jean-Francois Malsert took over a small plot of old-vine syrah nearby in Saint-Joseph in 2011. His natural wines have been making waves in the region ever since. This red has syrah’s classic brambly fruit and savory notes, along with notable freshness that keeps it light on its feet.
Tastes like: Blueberry, black pepper, violets.
How to drink: Lamb chops are a classic pairing, but any grilled or smoked meat would also work well.
