Pierre Moncuit, 'Cuvée Nicole' Vieilles Vignes Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 2008
$160
Pierre Moncuit only produces this Champagne in top vintages. 2008 is most certainly one of them. In this near-perfect growing season, Nicole Moncuit bottled her 100+ year old vines in the legendary Chétillons vineyard separately, and aged it for 15 years prior to release. The result is a Champagne with Moncuit’s classic freshness, as well as an added level of power, richness, and complexity.
Here's what you should know about it:
- Pierre Moncuit is an independent Champagne producer in the Cote des Blancs. It has been run by Nicole Moncuit for the last 50 years.
- The 'Cuvée Nicole' is only produced in select vintages. 2008 is an all-time great year for Champagne.
- It’s made from chardonnay in the grand cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, specifically the Les Chétillons vineyard. Chétillons is famously helmed by Pierre Péters.
