Podere Le Boncie, Rosso di Toscana 'Le Trame' 2020

If you’re a fan of fresh, savory Italian reds, then know that this is one of our favorites - at any price.

Podere le Boncie is an organic winery in Tuscany that makes very small quantities of wine from sangiovese. Unlike a lot of sangiovese, Boncie’s is elegant and lithe rather than big and rich. It reminds us of Burgundy, with earthy, herbal flavors that pair absolutely perfectly with all-things red sauce.

Here's what you should know about it:
  • Giovanna Morganti makes ‘Le Trame’ from biodynamic sangiovese in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany.
  • This wine reminds us of Pergole Torte, but it’s 1/5th the price.
  • Only 300 cases make it to the U.S. each year.
Things we actually said...

“Make this your ‘house red’ for the rest of the summer. You won’t be disappointed.”

- Matt Tervooren
