Podere Le Boncie, Rosso di Toscana 'Le Trame' 2023
$79
If you’re a fan of fresh, elegant Tuscan reds, then know that this is one of our favorites at any price.
It comes from Giovanna Morganti, who makes just three wines at her small, high-elevation estate in Chianti Classico. Le Trame is her flagship. It showcases the vibrant, earthy, Burgundian side of sangiovese. Think Le Ragnaie, Monteraponi, or Pergole Torte (just with a far friendlier price tag). Considering how little makes it to the U.S., it’s worth stocking up on whenever you get the chance.
Here's what you should know about it:
- Giovanna Morganti three wines, all based on sangiovese, farmed biodynamically in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. Le Trame is the flagship.
- Earthy and richly fruited, it has a combination of elegance and intensity only found in a handful of Tuscan reds.
- Only about 250 cases are exported to the U.S. each year.

As sommeliers, we often get asked, “What’s the best wine on the list?”
