Domaine S. Bernaudeau, 'Les Onglés' Anjou 2021

$250
All of Stéphane Bernaudeau’s wines carry the label “Vin de France” rather than the name of a specific appellation. He does this so the wines speak for themselves instead of conform to local laws. However, it’s ironic, because his wines offer a more vivid sense of place than almost any others in the Loire Valley. All of them, including Les Onglés, are made with chenin blanc grown on small, horse-plowed vineyards. His organic and biodynamic farming allow the land and growing conditions on this single vineyard in Anjou to be reflected in the final wine. Les Ongles is a rich, salty, and slightly cloudy wine that can age for years in the cellar.

Tastes like: Pear, Almonds, Honey, Sea Salt

How to drink: Drink it with roast chicken or pork after decanting it for an hour.
