There are as many types of red wines in Italy as there are hand motions to describe how wonderful they are.

In this collection, you’ll find some well-known go-tos, such as Brunello and barbera, from our favorite producers for everyday drinking. You’ll also find a mix of the obscure and varied grapes that litter the country, from wines grown on the side of a volcano to near Roman ruins. Above all, they will be delicious, likely organic, and affordable– and often a little wild tasting.
