Cappellano, Barolo 'Pié Rupestris' 2020 Magnum

Cappellano belongs in Barolo’s most rarefied air. Like Bartolo Mascarello, Baldo Cappellano was a legendary figure who both represented the old-school and brought the region to new heights. And like at Mascarello, the wines have only gotten better since the new generation took the helm in the early 2000s. A new, very limited batch of Augusto Cappellano’s wines arrive in a couple weeks.

Cappellano’s Pie Rupestris comes from the Gabutti vineyard in Serralunga. It showcases the commune's classic richness and power, but is also open and approachable out of the gates.
