Château Latour, Pauillac 1995

$800

Following four challenging years in Bordeaux, 1995 was a welcome relief. The hot, dry summer produced firm and, particularly on the left bank, tannic wines that are now in their prime drinking window. Latour made one of the very best '95s in all of Bordeaux. And one that, given the muscularity of the year, has always been surprisingly supple and approachable. For me, it’s only competitors are Margaux and Lafite.
