Denis Mortet was mentored by two Burgundy legends, Henri Jayer and Lalou Bize-Leroy. As such, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that he was notoriously meticulous in the vineyard and winery, nor should it come as a shock to hear that his domaine rose to superstar status under his stewardship. Run by Denis’ son, Arnaud, since 2006, the estate continues to make a style of Red Burgundy that’s powerful, precise, and age-worthy.
‘Mes Cinq Terroirs’ comes from the five best village-level sites in the domaine’s hometown of Gevrey-Chambertin. This is an ideal way to get to know Mortet’s bold, complex house style.
