Domaine Denis Mortet, Marsannay Rouge 'Les Longeroies' 2020

Denis Mortet was mentored by two Burgundy legends, Henri Jayer and Lalou Bize-Leroy. As such, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that he was notoriously meticulous in the vineyard and winery, nor should it come as a shock to hear that his domaine rose to superstar status under his stewardship. Run by Denis’ son, Arnaud, since 2006, the estate continues to make a style of Red Burgundy that’s powerful, precise, and age-worthy.

From old vines on what’s likely to become Marsanny’s first premier cru vineyard, this bottling sees very little oak, resulting in a wine that’s fresh, spicy, and pure.
