Domaine Faury, Saint-Joseph 'Vieilles Vignes' 2019

As the Gauls taught the Romans, it can be unwise to venture too far from home. More recently (and relevantly), Saint-Joseph has learned a similar lesson. As the appellation’s borders have continued to expand away from its original home near Hermitage, its wines have become more and more variable. That’s why it’s important to seek out the region’s premier producers. Producers like Domaine Faury. They use traditional winemaking methods to make classic Saint-Joseph that’s equal parts fruity, peppery, and meaty.
Tastes like: Blackberry, smoke, black pepper, and bacon.
How to drink: Decant it for an hour. Drink with lamb, roasted potatoes, or any type of grilled meat.
