This unique bottling is the product of a vineyard swap between Julian Haart and his close friend (and the world’s greatest riesling producer), Klaus Peter Keller. So while Haart is based on the slate slopes of the Mosel, he makes a tiny amount of this dry riesling from Keller’s grand cru sites in the Rheinhessen.
Prior to launching his own winery in 2010, Julian Haart worked for Keller, as well as Germany’s other GOAT riesling producer, Egon Müller. Julian set up shop in the Mosel (like Müller) with a focus on dry wines (like Keller). His pure, electric riesling quickly rose to benchmark status. This bottling from Keller’s vines in the Rheinhessen showcases Haart’s hallmark focus and vibrancy, with an added layer of depth and texture.
