Roagna, Barolo 'Pira' Vecchie Viti 2020

Roagna is at the top of the quality pyramid in Piemonte. Its wines are unapologetically traditional, with structure and ageability reserved for the region’s best old-school producers. They've been making wine since the late 1800s, but it was only in 1989 that the family expanded beyond Barbaresco, and acquired top parcels in the fabled village of Castiglione Falletto in Barolo. These wines have a bit more grip than Roagna’s Barbaresco, and are a good bet if you like darker, more powerful styles of nebbiolo.
