Tempier, Bandol 'Cuvée Tourtine' 1985

Domaine Tempier is one of those places where the wines are in every way as fantastic as the place and the story. Beginning in the 1930’s, Lucien Peyraud and his wife, the legendary Lulu, tirelessly advocated for the Mourvedre grape and the Bandol region as a whole. Over the ensuing decades, they put this sleepy fishing village between Toulon and Marseille on the global wine map. The single-vineyard 'Tourtine' always brings the muscle and requires time to soften.
