This red blend from Michael Cruse is primarily made with Valdiguié from Mendocino in California. Valdiguié’s long-held nickname is “Napa Gamay” due to its bright fruit, refreshing acidity, and peppery notes. It’s very much in line with earthy styles of Beaujolais, and is an ideal chilled red.
Tastes like: Raspberry, rhubarb, black pepper.
How to drink: A highly versatile chilled red that’s a good option for the Thanksgiving table.
