Giacomo Conterno is to Barolo what Chave is to Hermitage or Petrus is to Pomerol - a legendary producer whose wines are category-defining and nearly immortal. Conterno is the epitome of old-school, traditionalist Barolo. Run by the obsessively driven Roberto Conterno for the past 20 years, the style has remained unchanged, though the precision of the wines and scope of the range have both hit new heights. Roberto acquired part of the Ceretta vineyard in 2008. It yields small quantities of a concentrated, muscular Barolo.
