Nervi-Conterno, Gattinara 2016
Robert Conterno is one of Italy's most recognizable names in wine. He is based in Barolo, but recently bought Nervi, a winery in Gattinara, an hour north of there. The grape, nebbiolo, is the same in both places. The Nervi-Conterno project offers great value since the wines come from a lesser known place, but from one of the best. This bottle is 100% nebbiolo; it's medium-bodied and ultra crisp.
