Roberto Conterno’s Barolo is one of our favorite wines, and we’d drink it everyday if we could. But we can’t. This wine, which Roberto makes with nebbiolo a couple hours north of Barolo, is more accessible. The wines of Gattinara used to be a bit rustic and thin, but Roberto’s is elegant, floral and rich, reminiscent of softer vintages of his Barolo.
