Occhipinti

Occhipinti, Nero d'Avola 'Siccagno' 2023

$64
$53

Arianna Occhipinti makes some of our favorite natural wines in Italy (or anywhere else). In her hometown of Vittoria in southern Sicily, Arianna farms organically, applies a light touch in the cellar, and bottles without filtration. The resulting wines are vibrant and ultra-expressive while still feeling elegant and composed. ‘Siccagno’ is Arianna’s red made from the local nero d’Avola grape. It’s an aromatic, dark-fruited, earthy Sicilian red wine.

Here's what you should know about it:
  • Arianna Occhipinti makes natural wines in her hometown of Vittoria in Sicily.
  • She makes this red wine from a local grape called nero d’Avola. As with all of her wines, farming is organic and biodynamic, and bottling is done without filtration.
  • At COS, Arianna’s uncle, Giusto Occhipinti, helped redefine Sicily’s winemaking reputation in the 20th century. Arianna is doing the same in the 21st.
As sommeliers, we often get asked, “What’s the best wine on the list?”
Rarely would we ever tell the truth. We wanted to hoard them for ourselves, or stash them away to drink with our sommelier friends in-the-know. Well, Parcelle Picks is our big reveal. This is our selection of the hard-to-find, ready-to-drink, sometimes well known, maybe obscure, and always limited wines we love most.

Call it a hit list, a daily deal, or whatever you like. It’s the best stuff we have right now—and at the best prices.
