Arianna Occhipinti is Sicily’s most exciting winemaker. In her hometown on the southeastern corner of the island, she biodynamically farms native grape varieties, and produces lively, nuanced natural wines. Arianna’s uncle, Giusto Occhipinti, helped redefine Sicilian winemaking in the 20th century. Arianna is doing the same for the 21st.
This red is a blend of frappato and nero d’avola. The latter is similar to syrah, which gives the wine some darker fruit and smoky flavors to go along with frappato’s lithe freshness.
