The Colla family has vineyards so steep and rugged you need a 4-wheel drive to just get into the driveway. From there, their backyard nestles up to some of Italy’s best red wine vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco. Poderi Colla was started by the legendary brothers Beppe and Tino Colla who are considered as important to the region as names like Gaja and Giacosa.

Tastes like: Red cherry, roses, leather, and potting soil.

How to drink: Decant for an hour and drink now, or age it for up to 20 years. Pair it with fresh pasta, white truffles, steak, and beets.
