Quilceda Creek, Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Quilceda Creek is the benchmark for Cabernet in Washington State. Since the early ‘80s, their track-record for long-lived, refined reds is unparalleled in the region, drawing comparisons to Napa and Bordeaux instead. However, the wines stylistically stand apart. Their northerly location yields Cabernets that are crisper and more aromatic. Lower in alcohol than Napa, less tannic than left bank Bordeaux. 

This release of Quilceda Creek’s flagship is a blend of vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills. Arid and high up, the location gives these wines a thrilling balance between ripeness and lift.
