Any schioppettino you come across - from Italy to California - can be traced back to the Rapuzzi family at Ronchi di Cialla. In the Friuli region of northeastern Italy, they brought the peppery, savory red grape variety back from extinction in the ‘70s, and made it the backbone of their winery. The current generation, Ivan and Pierpaolo Rapuzzi, continue to make schioppettino in a fresh, earthy style.
