
Stratum, Jumilla Monastrell 'La Servil' 2022
In southern Spain, the Cerdán family makes natural wines that are antithesis to the nondescript, mass-produced juice that the Jumilla region was long known for. They farm monastrell (mourvèdre) organically and biodynamically, utilizing the area’s high-elevation vineyard sites to produce a juicy, rich red wine with remarkable level of freshness and balance considering the near desert-like conditions. La Servil is essentially Stratum’s single-vineyard premier cru. It's a smoky, dark-fruited expression of monastrell.
