Aurelien Suenen, a former semi-pro basketball player, returned to run his family’s winery in Champagne in 2009. Since then, he has become one of the region’s brightest stars. Aurelien farms organically, and makes small quantities of crisp, focused, site-specific Champagnes in the Côte des Blancs. The Oiry reminds us of the bright, pristinely mineral style of Agrapart or Pierre Péters.
