Château Léoville Las Cases, Saint-Julien 2000

$185
Léoville Las Cases is a old-school producer in Bordeaux who makes soulful and savory cabernet-based wines in the famous village of Saint-Julien. This bottle, while still powerful, is softer and more nuanced than cabernet from Napa. It smells like blackberries, vanilla, and autumn leaves and tastes full but fresh. It may not be the "cool new thing," but it will always be a classic.
