Pretty much anywhere you look in the world of wine, you’ll find producers making ‘Burdundian’ style pinot noir. Very, very few do the description justice like Daniel Twardowski. A Burgundy obsessive himself, Daniel set out with some serious raw material - vines from Clos de la Roche, Romanée St. Vivant, and Richebourg, as well as barrels from DRC and Rousseau.
Rather than setting up shop in a traditional German red wine region like Baden (think Wasenhaus and Enderle & Moll), Daniel decided to become the first pinot noir-focused producer in the Mosel. The results are special. Ethereally light yet intense and detailed, his wines leave an impression. The 'Noix' comes from the ‘grand cru’ Hofberg vineyard, and combines concentration and finesse in a way that reminds of blue-chip Burgundy.
