For the better part of 20 years, Didier Fornerol worked under one of the legends of Burgundy, Jean-Pierre de Smet, at Domaine de L’Arlot. In 1999, he left L’Arlot to take over his family’s domaine in an area not considered to have exceptional vineyards. Fast forward to present, and Fornerol's wines transcend their region-level classifications. Using the same whole-cluster fermentation process as DRC and Dujac, he makes savory, floral, aromatic Red Burgundy.
