Domaine Trapet Père et Fils, Gevrey-Chambertin 'Ostrea' 2013

The 7th-generation winemaking family has left its mark on Gevrey in a number of ways, but the most important thing to know is that its wines have never been better. Now helmed by Jean-Louis Trapet, the house style has moved away from extraction and oak, favoring elegance and freshness instead.

Trapet’s style may not be as dense and assertive as some in Gevrey, but its wines can age with the best of them. With a decade under its belt, this is still fresh and balanced.
