The young José Joaquín Ballesteros makes wines in a southern Spanish village best known for its clay amphora tanks. In fact, José Joaquín comes from a line of grape growers on his dad’s side, and amphorae producers on his mom’s. At Llámalo (pronounced "yah-mah-low"), he organically farms local grape varieties like cencibel, moravia, and bobal to make this smooth, aromatic red wine. Aged in amphora and bottled unfiltered, only 500 cases are produced each year.
