Marie Courtin, 'Efflorescence' Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2019

If you’re not familiar with Marie Courtin, it’s solely a product of how little Champagne they produce. But the wines that Dominique Moreau makes here are worth trying any chance you get. In the Aube, Dominique Moreau, who named the winery after her grandmother, biodynamically farms a few small plots walking distance from Cedric Bouchard. And as with Bouchard, Dominique’s bottlings are single-vineyard, single-vintage with zero dosage.

Efflorescence is Dominique’s flagship bottling, and even still, only a few hundred cases are produced annually. The barrel-aged, 100% pinot noir Champagne is powerful, round, and subtly savory.
