Georges Noëllat is one of the great domaines in Vosne-Romanée. After a few decades that saw Noëllat’s land split up - forming the majority of Domaine Leroy - and its wines sold to Drouhin and Jadot, 20 year-old Maxime Cheurlin took over his family’s estate in 2010. A nephew of Jayer and cousin of Emmanuel Rouget’s sons, Maxime quickly established himself as one of the brightest talents in Burgundy. Les Saint Georges - a vineyard also helmed by Liger-Belair and Robert Chevillon - often outshows Grand Cru Burgundy twice its price.
