What Wine to Order at Place Des Fêtes

What Wine to Order at Place Des Fêtes

If we were mayor… instead of Starbucks or Sweetgreen, every neighborhood would have a Place des Fêtes. This new BK place has become buzzy within the restaurant industry and deservingly so. It’s got canned fish, fried things, and of course some natural wine. While those are all tropes of any new restaurant opening, PDF is authentic, full of super nice people, and the wine list is the smart and tasty kind of natural wine that is just right for a random night out. Not every night needs to be full of trophy wine.

Also, the daiquiris are delicious. And yeah, natural wine still can give you a crushing hangover.

Here’s what to drink and how to navigate a wine list you don’t recognize anything on but know what you want it to taste like.

Place des Fêtes Wine List

If you like Champagne drink these:

Ramón Jané, Tinc Set

Xarel-lo/Parellada Catalonia '20

Mas Candí, Brut Nature Corpinnat Indomable

Spanish whites from this style of producers are best compared to Chablis:

Suertes del Marques, Trenzado Blanco

Listán Blanco, Tenerife, Canary Islands

Pablo Matallana, Vinícola Taro Blanco

Malvasia/Listán Blanco/Diego, Lanzarote, Canary Islands '19

They sprinkle in a few French reds too, from cult like natural producers Jean-Yves Peron:

Jean-Yves Péron, Champs Levat

Mondeuse, Savoie, France '19

We don't ever recommend Sherry. Sorry.
