Gabrio Bini, Zibibbo Bianco 2022
On a tiny volcanic island in the Mediterranean, the singular Gabrio Bini makes this skin-contact white wine from the local zibibbo grape. After biodynamically farming and hand picking the grapes, Gabrio ferments it on its skins for months in big terracotta pots buried in the vineyard. It all sounds a bit out there, but the result is truly delicious. It has ripe citrus and floral notes as well as classic volcanic saltiness, yielding a bright, lightly orange wine.
