López de Heredia is the most important producer in Rioja, if not all of Spain. The old-school, family-run estate makes red wines that are savory, spice-laden, and exceptionally age-worthy. Tondonia is López de Heredia’s most famous vineyard, and this tempranillo-based red is the cornerstone of their lineup. Tondonia's limestone-rich soils yield a deep, polished red with flavors more akin to baking spices and cigars than flowers and fruit.
