Benanti, 'Serra della Contessa' Sicily 2002

$95
Mount Etna is our favorite region you didn’t know existed. If you do know it exists, it’s largely because of the Benanti family. Other than having the occasional volcanic eruption and an annual snow storm, Mount Etna has become the world’s newest premier wine region. It’s wines have gone from being edgy and obscure to now being compared to the classic areas like Barolo and Burgundy. They deserve it. The wines are light in color like Burgundy, have proven to age like Barolo, and we think someday will hit prices like that too. Our recommendation: load up before it does.
