Brendan Stater-West, Saumur Blanc 'Les Chapaudaises' 2021

Brendan Stater-West moved to France from Oregon around 15 years ago, planning to be an English teacher in Paris. Long story short, after tasting the chenin blancs of Romain Guiberteau while working at a wine shop, he moved to the Loire Valley and convinced Romain to give him a job. A few years later, Guiberteau helped Brendan launch his own project with a small vineyard called Les Chapaudaises in Saumur. Fast forward to present, and Brendan’s salty, vibrant chenin blanc is now held in the same esteem as those of his mentor. 

Tastes like: Peach, honeysuckle, smoke, sea salt.

How to drink: Chilled with salty cheeses or rich seafood dishes.
