Castello di Ama's "L'Apparita" was the first Merlot ever to be grown in Italy, and is arguably the only one that ever should have been. The wine is rich and plummy, like most merlot, but peppered with the the savory, herbal character of Tuscany's more rustic and traditional wines. This is an old-school super Tuscan that will please serious Italian collectors as much as it will drinkers more accustomed to flashier Napa styles.
*Opening old wine can be tricky. Many corks are fragile, and if you’re not careful, can break. Just because a cork crumbles doesn't mean the wine’s off. If you're new to buying old wine or curious about the condition, just reach out.
Please note: we aren’t able to take returns of any corked or damaged bottles.
