In the town of Saumur, there’s a hill called Brézé that’s the source of some of the Loire’s greatest wines. Romain Guiberteau farms the best vineyards on Brézé, including an old-vine plot of cab franc called ‘Les Arboises’. Like his mentor, Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, Romain farms organically, producing a deeply savory, elegant red that’s one of our favorite examples of cab franc, period.
