Jean-Philippe Fichet doesn’t make any wine from premier or grand cru vineyards in Burgundy, and that’s perfectly fine by us. Because while Fichet is one of the most talented and detail-oriented producers in Meursault, his lack of marquee vineyard holdings keeps his reputation from catching up to the quality of his wines. His style is focused on purity and brightness, with mineral-driven white wines that have the structure and ageability of Burgundy far more expensive.
From older vines entirely in Meursault, this has depth and concentration you typically only find in wines higher up the Burgundy classification hierarchy.
