Jérome Fornerot’s family has roots in Burgundy dating back a half-millenium, but he only launched his own domaine in the early ‘00s. Since then, his whites have become some of the best sources of value in Burgundy. This fresh, smoky white comes from a single plot in Santenay, a village that borders Chassagne-Montrachet and Fornerot’s hometown of Saint-Aubin.
Tastes like: White peach, smoke, salted almond.
How to drink: Chilled with fresh seafood or linguine in clam sauce.
