Peter Lauer, Riesling Trocken-Feinherb 'Ayler No. 1' 2023

Peter Lauer is one of the great riesling producers in all of Germany. The organic estate is located in a cold part of the Mosel called the Saar. There, Lauer is neighbors with the legendary Egon Müller. But compared to Müller’s more rich and weighty style, Florian Lauer’s rieslings are comparatively brisk. This wine from Lauer’s most important vineyard is round, spicy, and powerfully aromatic.

Tastes like: Pear, smoke, ginger, crème fraîche.
How to drink: Cold with sushi, or any dish heavy on herbs and spices.
