Podere Le Boncie, 'Le Trame' Rosso di Toscana 2018

By no means is this just our doing, but over the years we’ve watched the wines sommeliers stand behind become harder to find and definitely more expensive. We speak of them the same way grandparents like to remind you that a bottle of Coca-Cola used to cost a nickel. It’s exhausting. Podere Le Boncie is soon to be that. Here’s why:

This is a style of sangiovese, the grape of Brunello and Chianti, that’s ‘Burgundy-like.’ In short, that means it’s light in body, and has flavors like wild strawberry and fresh roses instead of chocolate and prunes. It’s similar to Pergole Torte and Soldera, both of which have proven to be age-worthy, while also delicious out of the gate. Wines like this are the ones you want to have as your house wine– you can drink it all the time, and if you forget about it, it’s definitely not going to go bad either.
