Weiser-Künstler, Riesling Spätlese 'Ellergrub' 2024

Weiser-Künstler is currently making some of the most exciting riesling in the Mosel, if not all of Germany. The husband-and-wife duo of Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra Künstler organically farm ancient vines - doing everything by hand - to produce small quantities of old-school rieslings. While each vineyard has its own distinctive identity, the wines all share a throughline of delicacy and high-acid energy. Another attribute they share in spades is value (for now).

The Ellergrub, with vines more than 110 years old, is the heart and soul of Weiser-Künstler. Their Spätlese is ripe and exotic, densely packed but not at all thick or out of balance. Less than 400 bottles were made in total.
