Bruno Dangin, Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Noirs

$30
A lot of French sparkling wine is made using the same method as Champagne, but that doesn’t mean a lot of it tastes like Champagne. This Crémant from Bruno Dangin, on the other hand, is Champagne in all but name. It’s made with organic grapes grown two kilometers from Champagne’s southern border in the same limestone soils found to the north. The 100% pinot noir wine is aged longer than most non-vintage Champagne, and the resulting elegance, precision, and toasty character are dead ringers for those found in Crémant’s more lavish sibling.
