Domaine Le Petit Saint Vincent, Saumur Blanc 'Les Perruchets' 2021

Amongst the rolling hills of Saumur, you’ll find the small village of Varrains, and the inimitable figure of Dominique “Pelo" Joseph. Attached to the Joseph’s house is the family winery, which Pelo has run for the past 30+ years. Organic from the outset, Pelo has never wavered from making pure, expressive wines that reflect the soils they come from. In the case of his sole white wine, that means a bright, midweight, mineral-driven chenin blanc from a nearby vineyard called Les Perruchets. Pelo is the only winemaker to produce chenin from Perruchets, and production is just a couple hundred cases per year.
